Ten miles of unspoiled and sparsely populated beach await you when you stay at our Jekyll Island vacation resort. Georgia beaches offer plenty of sand and sun for all your favorite beach activities, including sunbathing, volleyball, bird watching and the all-time favorite – shell collecting. Located a few short steps from Villas by the Sea, this beach is one of the best for shell-collecting. It is also not uncommon to find at Driftwood Beach, live hermit crabs and sand dollars along the shore, depending on tide and season.
Situated at the north end of Jekyll Island, Driftwood Beach offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities because of the combination of beach, forest and saltwater habitats. At Jekyll Island north end, beach animals such as porpoises, egrets, periwinkle snails, fiddler crabs and herons can be seen from this unique area.
Please note, our Jekyll Island vacation rentals are separated from the beaches by the natural dune line ~ this is in order to protect our beaches from the erosion process. Jekyll Island is a state-owned park & therefore protected by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. For more information on the preservation and conservation of Jekyll Island, please visit the Jekyll Island Foundation or contact Tidelands Nature Center.
This Georgia beach resort's beachfront is only available at low tide.
