What’s new at the Villas?
We’re constantly working to improve all aspects of our “property” from the Landscape to our level of Customer Service.
  • Our beautiful pool was updated to create a separate “Kiddies” pool for our youngest guests and the main pool and kiddies’ pool is now separated by a lovely bridge walkway.
  • The Villas has replaced all stairways for the safety of our Guests.
  • New doors and locks are currently being installed
  • Some of our past guests may not know that we added a 400 foot boardwalk to provide our guests with the best ocean view on the Island.
  • A new "Pool House" (poolside) is under construction. It will include: showers, restrooms and changing area for the convenience of our guests...opening February 2012.

What’s new on Jekyll Island?
“Jekyll Island Revitalization” is underway and by mid 2012, Jekyll Island will once again be recognized as a premier travel destination in the Southeast. Great Dunes Park now offers 20 acres of beachfront space with picnic pavilions, a deck for beach events, a play area, beach access for the public and more.

The new 128,000 square foot ocean front Jekyll Island Convention Center, scheduled to open in early summer of 2012 will provide 78,000 square-foot of prime meeting space. The structure will create a wonderful and unique guest experience. The structure will be Leed Silver Certified. Function space will become a premier meeting destination for Georgia and beyond.

The Entrance to Jekyll Island ... Improvements to the Jekyll Island entry corridor will take advantage of existing live oaks to enhance the intimate character of the Jekyll Island entry experience. The Greeting Station will be relocated near the existing visitor's center and offer our guests a tranquil and safe entry to this unique barrier Island.

Questions Guests may have for Villas by the Sea:
General Questions:
  • Will my Oceanside Villa have a view of the Ocean?
Because of our natural tree line we can't guarantee an Ocean view. We are separated from the Ocean by a natural barrier which hinders a view.
  • Do I need to bring beach chairs/umbrella?
We provide some seating on our boardwalk and at our pavilion. We suggest you bring your own chairs and umbrella for the beach.
  • Are DVD players in the Villas?
Yes, we offer DVD players in all Villa living rooms. We also have a DVD lending library that contains a wide variety of movie titles.
Housekeeping Questions:
  • I need additional towels, who should I call?
Please call the Front Desk Clerk and they will assist in getting towels delivered to your Villa.
  • Does Villas by the Sea provide daily maid service?
Our normal service is to replenish your towels, empty trash receptacles and re-stock your bathroom toiletries daily. If you require full maid service (making the bed/vacuuming) we can provide that service for a nominal fee.
Maintenance Questions:
  • I can't get the remote to work with the TV ... who do I call?
Please call the Front Desk clerk and they will send a maintenance technician to assist you.
  • I can't get my key card to open my Villa door, what do I do?
Please come to the Front Desk and we will check your key and send a maintenance technician to your Villa door if needed.
Restaurant & Lounge:
  • What are the hours of your restaurant and lounge?
The Driftwood Bistro and the Bistro Lounge is located adjacent to our Front Desk and is open Monday through Saturday, 5pm - 9pm.
  • What are the hours of the Click Cafe?
The Click Cafe is located adjacent to our Front Desk and is open 24 hours a day.

Travel Tip(s)
There's no question: over packing tops the list of biggest travel mistakes.
  • Check the weather for Jekyll Island and pack accordingly.
  • Make a list of what you need and/or want to pack and check it off accordingly...this will reduce the need and stress of trying to find something immediately upon arrival.
  • Suggestion: Pack a pair of running shoes and two pairs of shorts, two pairs of socks and two singles. Use them. Wash your gear at one of our 3 coin laundry facilities and you will be ready for the next day.
  • One set of toiletries – have it packed and ready to go.
  • If you have children and are driving to Jekyll Island…make sure you bring games or videos to play in the car to keep harmony and peace while you drive.
